Friends of Black Bayou Annual Fall Celebration 

2023 Fall Celebration will be held from 9am to 2pm on October 21, 2023

Kids of all ages love to come to the Fall Celebration out at Black Bayou Lake NWR each October, when there's a bit of a nip in the air and the wildlife is beginning to transition to the next season. There are FUN activities and booths set up near the Visitor Center for our special humans to enjoy, and there are lots of activities, sponsored by Friends of Black Bayou and various other community groups. 

The Fall Celebration is usually held in conjunction with National Wildlife Refuge Week.

 You can expect to enjoy activities such as these, and more!
  • pollinator activities,
  • birdhouse building,
  • turning the Blue Goose migration marker,
  • free canoeing,
  • native animal displays,
  • hands-on arts activities,
  • face-painting,
  • temporary tattoos,
  • science fun,
  • refuge photography contest,
  • GPS game,
  • and so much more!
