History of Friends of Black Bayou Lake NWR

In 2004, FoBB was named the top Refuge Friends Group in the country. And this was just the beginning!

The House

From its original location on the lake, the house was moved to its current location, where volunteers worked tirelessly to create the beautiful building that now houses offices, a conference room and the Friends' Gift Shop. More of the history of this amazing transformation to come ...
Visitor Center Building was once a Plantation Home on the bayou. Moved and Renovated by FoBB Volunteers.
