Volunteer
What do FoBB volunteers do?
|
Volunteers are the lifeblood of Friends of Black Bayou Lake National Wildlife Refuge. If you have some time that you can give, please consider volunteering. We will provide the training--you provide the enthusiasm!
Volunteer docents are needed 7 days a week--8 am-4 pm weekdays, 9 am-5 pm Saturdays, and 1-5 pm Sundays. Most people volunteer for 4-hour time slots. Free training is provided. To volunteer as a docent (host) at the Refuge Visitor Center, you may contact the volunteers at 318-387-1114, or [email protected] for more information about volunteer opportunities and schedules. Volunteer opportunities available include such activities/tasks as lawn care, planting, weeding, painting, woodwork, and more--some of which require training, some only require willingness! Contact [email protected] or call 318-387-1114 to talk about other opportunities to help out at the Refuge. Thank you! |

Educator VolunteerEducation is key to preserving wildlife, and helping people understand that actions they take affect the wildlife, habitat, and survival of species in ways they may not have previously known. If you are an educator, and would like to volunteer to educate our members, the public, or assist in any way, please contact [email protected].
