2020 Friends of Black Bayou Photo Contest is different from previous years’ contests, but the objectives are the same: to encourage protection of wildlife and conservation of natural resources through photographic skills and an appreciation of natural settings on the Refuge. In 2020 no print photographs will be accepted--only emailed electronic entries, and only two categories of entrants: Youth (under 17 years of age) and Adult (17 years and above). Both amateur and professional photographers are eligible to enter. Details and Rules>> |

There are only a few things that I do regularly. One is listen to 90.3 KEDM. The other, is go to Black Bayou. My family has breathed in the sweet air on the pier, we have meditated in canoe with cypress trees, we have chased a deer on the trails, and we have peppered Nova with questions. For twenty years Friends of Black Bayou, (FoBB), has not only created, maintained, and supported Black Bayou, but been a tremendous friend to KEDM. FoBB has stepped in once more to help KEDM for the Be the One Campaign. We are looking for 150 listeners to give $100. Be the One to help KEDM bring you a variety of stories from the diversity of the world we live in. Kris Kelley is a team leader, and would like your help in making FoBB team raise the most for the campaign. He and his team will be on air Thursday, June 8th from 3 to 6 pm. You may call at any time to donate, simply make sure to state you are giving for FoBB team. You can reach us at 318-342-5563 or online at kedm.org.
